Well we have gone and done it!!!!! We have now got 2 clubs in 1. We are now called the Anchor Bowmen & The 100 Yard Club, all the same club,rolled into 1. but now we have the choice of doing target or field shooting.

Hi to you all from the Anchor Bowmen and The 100 Yard Club
Although many people (mainly boys) have done archery at some time in their life starting with a tree branch and a piece of string, and a sharpened piece of doweling, not many people realise that Scunthorpe has 2 clubs into 1 archery club.
But there has been an Anchor Bowmen of Scunthorpe since 1954, (and no i did not start it). We are a group of archers , of all ages, both male and female, so we do not discriminate, either with sex or age . It is true that most people can do archery, even disabled and this is where our archery leader come into it, as most people have to be taught , safety and the proper use of the equipment.
There are about 45 archers in our club, and we shoot all year round on a Monday and Wednesday night, we also shoot on a Saturday afternoon, at the J.C.S site at Elsham from 12.00 till 15.30. Some of us even go into competitions usually local.
